  Dear Colleague,

In honor of the 80's birthday of Professor R.R. Phelps, and following a longstanding tradition of spring schools, we announce the next

Spring Conference on Banach Spaces

in the Czech Republic, to be held at Paseky nad Jizerou, from 13.4. 2008 until 19.4. 2008. The conference will be devoted to general Banach space theory, with the emphasis on the areas influenced by Prof. Phelps' work. The following main speakers have agreed to deliver a plenary lecture:

Richard M. Aron   Kent State University, Ohio, USA
Robert Deville   Université de Bordeaux, France
Joe Diestel   Kent State University, Ohio, USA
John R. Giles   The University of Newcastle, Australia
Gilles Godefroy   Université Paris VI, France
Vicente Montesinos   Universidad Polytécnica de Valencia, Spain
Isaac Namioka   University of Washington, Seattle, USA

The purpose of this meeting is to bring together researchers with common interest in the field, and to give an opportunity to deliver a short talk. The meeting traditionally offers many possibilities for informal discussions.
Graduate students and others beginning their mathematical career are encouraged to participate.

The conference fee will be EUR 400. The  conference fee includes all local expenses (room and board) and transportation between Prague and Paseky. The fee for accompanying persons is the same. Payment should be made in cash at the registration desk in Paseky, or it may be remitted by a bank transfer to
